The Lamborghini Countach which first entered production in 1974 is undoubtedly a design icon and a trailblazer for the design of almost every supercar to follow. Its design both pioneered and popularized the wedge-shaped, sharply angled look popular in many high performance sports cars. The "cabin-forward" design concept, which pushes the passenger compartment forward in order to accommodate a larger engine, was also popularized by the Countach.

For the QV 5000, the penultimate and most popular iteration of the Countach legend, the engine was bored and stroked to 5.2 litres (5,167 cc) and given four valves per cylinder (quattrovalvole in Italian). The carburettors were moved from the sides to the top of the engine for better breathing — creating a "power bulge" on the engine cover. These engine changes meant that the car produced over 450BHP enough to propel the car from a standstill to 60mph in 4.1 seconds and on to 100mph in 10. The car's top speed is 195 MPH.

This example presented in Nero with Nero leather seats is a U.K RHD car originally supplied by Lamborghini London to a Mr David Thatcher in 1986. Since then the car has covered 31,000 miles and has had six further custodians including Keith Harmer. Keuth Harmer is the man responsible for the "Athena" supercar prints which popularised the F40 and Countach and in doing so changed so many bedroom walls forever. Keith purchased this example as it represents an identical spec to the car he shot for the Countach Athena print in the 1980s. The car is presented with an excellent history file which includes the details of all seven owners as well as almost every tax disc, MOT and service bill since delivery. This exceptional car is ready to view in our showrooms just outside London immediately.
