The Dino 246 GTS was introduced in 1972, following the success of the 246 GT, and was built largely for the USA market. The GTS could be distinguished from the GT by the absence of the small rear windows and an integrated 206 S-type roll bar on which there are three air intakes that are used to channel air to the rear window when the targa roof is in place. The removable targa roof panel can be stored behind the seats. The chassis was also modified with reinforced extra bracing along the sides and front of the engine frame. A mere 1274 GTSs were built and only 235 right hand drive examples exist, with production halting in 1974. The engine was a 2.4 litre V6.

This RHD example was manufactured by Ferrari SpA Maranello for delivery to UK market importer Maranello Concessionaries in July 1972 and was originally supplied in Verde Germoglio, although it has since been repainted. The extensive file, which includes copies of the original sales invoice and order sheets confirms that, as well as being supplied in the rare and stunning Verde Germoglio, the car also was equipped with Black seats and electric windows were fitted as an optional extra. It has, since 1991, had 5 further owners, with excellent records kept of all works carried out since. Currently, the car has a tan leather interior, which complements the red paintwork.

The vehicle was exported to Malaysia in 2007 and whilst in Malaysia, it was fully repainted, serviced regularly and extensive time and resources have been allocated to keeping the car in superb condition. In January 2015, the water pump and clutch housing were replaced and many engine parts were detailed, polished and rechromed. In addition, a full interior/exterior detailing of the car was carried out. Following its return to the UK in February 2015 with 79,000 miles recorded, additional work has been undertaken by a leading Ferrari specialist. As well as giving the car a major service, both the front lower wishbone bushes were replaced, along with the steering rack gaiter, fuel lines and coolant pipe up to the thermostat. Finally, the alternator received a specialist overhaul and all electrical faults were eradicated. As a result of the work, this Dino needs nothing and is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately, with the car now UK registered and available for viewing at our showrooms based just outside London.
