Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Roadster

Jaguar E-Type is a British automobile legend, manufactured by Jaguar between 1961 and 1975. A combination of good looks, high performance, and competitive pricing ensured the car was an instant legend. In period, a Ferrari cost three times more and supplied less horse power which established the marque as an icon of 1960s motoring. The model became a great success for Jaguar, with more than 70,000 E-Types being sold during its lifespan. On its release, Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made".

The model was made in three distinct versions which are now generally referred to as "Series 1", "Series 2" and "Series 3". A transitional series between Series 1 and Series 2 is known, unofficially, as "Series 1½".The most desirable of all E-Types is often regarded as the early Series 1 "Flat Floor" 3.8 Roadsters.

This example was supplied when new in October 1961, to a Mr E.M Crissly of Atlanta Georgia via the New York Jaguar Dealership. Mr Crissly sold the car after less than a year in 1962 to John Alexander a resident in San Antonio. From this point onwards the car would remain in the warm climate of Texas until repatriated to the U.K in 2013. Mr Alexander kept the car for 20 years and the third owner Robert Carter (Houston, Texas) had the car 31 years from 1982 to 2013. This history is validated by a Texas title and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. Since arriving back in the U.K the car has been treated to a restoration by Jaguar Specialists Fullbridge restorations. This included of course brand new black trim and a bare metal repaint in the car's original colour of Carmen Red.

This three owner restored and matching numbers "Flat Floor" 3.8 Roadster is now U.K registered ready to be used and enjoyed in the U.K with its new owner. As a LHD car it is also perfectly suited to Tours and Rallies in Europe.
