Istanbul Concours D'Elegance

The Inaugural Istanbul Conours D'Elegance was held over the weekend of the 22nd-23rd of June 2013. Situated in the grounds of the spectacular Küçüksu Palace, the event was guaranteed phenomenal weather and a stunning location. The Küçüksu Palace was built in the 1800s as a summer palace for the Sultans. It is located In-between Istanbul's two famous bridges on the asain shore of the Bosphorous, the palace has extensive gardens including a private beach. Some 60 cars were present on the lawns of the pavilion for the two day event split into 5 distinct classes.

Judging panel was made up of Dominik Fischlin (the presient of FIVA Switzerland and a member of the selection panels for both the Villa D'Este Concours and the Mille Miglia), Demir BerberoÄŸlu (the ex-president of TOSFED,Turkish Motorsports Federation), Saydun GökÅŸin (FIVA steward for Turkey and the current president of the Classic Automibile Club), DR Ekber Onuk part of the Anadol STC-16 project, Turkey's first automobile designed for serial production), Vaughn Andrako (a leading automotive historian), Reinhard Schmidlin, (the founder of the Oldertimer Dealership in Toffen, CH.) In addition to DK's founder David Cottingham.

The event itself was a huge success due largely to the location and the huge enthusiasm of the Turkish organisers, entrants and spectators. The event is sure to be back in 2014, and without doubt will form an important role in the ever expanding automotive calendar.
