The F430 Scuderia was unveiled by Ferrari in July 2007 and was the most potent road-legal version of the model produced by the factory. A gap had been left since the 360 Challenge Stradale production ended in 2005, and this model filled it being like its predecessor lighter, more powerful, rawer and technologically more advanced than its standard sibling.
Thanks to a high compression motor with re-mapped engine management and a sports exhaust, output was up from 483 to 510bhp, this being developed at an unchanged 8500rpm. The F1 transmission also came in for some attention, F430 Scuderia's using Ferrari's latest generation 'Superfast' software that reduced gearchange time to just 60 milliseconds. Other important developments were made including a new traction control system that combined the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system; E-Diff-2.
Ride-height was dropped by 15mm, firmer springs and dampers being installed along with bigger carbon ceramic brake discs, the front calipers being uprated to 6-piston items. Visually the Scuderia received new 19-inch double spoke wheels as well as the introduction of a series of aero refinements that lent the Scuderia a more aggressive look than on the standard F430. Restyled front intake grilles were larger and more angular, the back-end featuring a carbonfibre diffuser with centrally-exiting Challenge exhaust tips and new exhaust surround. A Challenge rear grille came as standard, Carbonfibre being used for the wing mirrors, engine bay vents and strut supports.
Just 136 examples of this super exclusive race car for the road came to the UK. This example is a UK supplied car and was first registered in September 2008. It is presented in stunning Rosso Mugello with grey Scuderia Racing Livery stripes to suit. The interior is finished mainly in dark grey alcantara fitted to the dash and seats. The seat centres are trimmed in black airtex style material similar to some Enzo's. The interior stitching is a lighter grey contrasting with the darker grey alcantara accordingly. The wheels are finished in Grigio to match the Racing Livery and the calipers are colour coded yellow as is the Rev counter. The interior is equipped with a factory fitted fire extinguisher, trimmed rear roll cage and a factory upgraded stereo system with additional speakers between the seats.
The condition of the car is superb having covered just 7,300 miles from new and it has just received a full service at Lancaster Ferrari (Lancaster supplied the vehicle new and have always serviced it) making it ready to use and enjoy immediately.
