The historic racing season kicked off this past weekend at the 83rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting, a firm favourite on the calendar. Alongside a programme that included Super Tourers and a Brawn GP demonstration, Saturday evening’s golden-hour running of the all-E-type Protheroe Cup proved a particular highlight.
DK Engineering’s ex-Joe Huffaker, SCCA E-type was invited to join a grid of more than 20 examples. With James Cottingham away for the opening round of the World Endurance Championship, driving duties were shared between Jeremy Cottingham and friend of the business, Scott Redding.
Starting from the middle of the field, the pair delivered a composed and competitive drive, steadily working their way up the order to run consistently in fifth position. A late pirouette in the closing stages ultimately dropped them back to eighth place at the chequered flag.
The DK Engineering team were on the ground throughout the weekend, making the most of the glorious weather, catching up with friends and clients, and enjoying the kind of historic racing that remains at the very heart of the business. A fantastic way to start the season.
