Ferrari 812 Superfast (2019)

In keeping with Ferrari’s model revision schedule, the 812 Superfast (internally F152M) provides the heavily revised successor to the F12; a car which at it’s launch was the fastest Ferrari ever. The 812SF brings a number of hefty updates and new componentry to the game, far more than just a power hike! The 812SF welcomes a number of transmission changes, aerodynamic and suspension and steering revisions along with an entirely new body, the first car designed entirely in-house at Ferrari.

In true Ferrari fashion, the 812 Superfast raises the stakes above even that of the limited run-out F12 TDF. A larger capacity V12 means power is now up a further 20 bhp from the TDF, and whilst the torque gain of 10 lb/ft may seem nominal, a monstrous 80% of this is available from just 3,500 rpm.

The 812 further inherited a number of technological advances first seen in the TDF. The chassis technology including the ‘virtual short wheelbase’ four-wheel steering system including direct inheritance of the TDF steering rack enables the large GT car to defy its dimensions entirely, resulting in a much smaller and more nimble driving experience.

Inside the car receives a lightly refreshed steering wheel setup. With all the controls for most-regularly used options on the steering wheel, the buttons have been enlarged making for easier, more intuitive use whilst driving.

This example was supplied new through Carrs Ferrari Exeter to the then CEO of Pirelli's Asia Pacific region and former motorsport director of one of Ferrari's official tyre suppliers. As such, this example was optioned at the factory through Ferrari's Tailor Made program, an evolution of the 'One to One' program that was launched on the 612 Scaglietti. The Tailor Made program affords the client the option to hand select from a huge number of exclusive colours and fabrics as well as the option to create bespoke colours. It also incorporates elements from Ferrari's illustrious history and classical touches such as differing material finishes from standard production.

This example receives a wealth of options and is finished in the original owner’s bespoke dark blue shade of Blu Hembery. The specification draws great influence from classic Ferrari models with the interior seeing woven leather inserts, inspired by a Bottega Veneta leather sample. Uniquely, this 812 Superfast features a hammered aluminium finish to all interior trim in place of the traditional carbon fibre finish, harking back to the interiors of 50s and 60s race cars.
