The reference ''RS'' will quicken the pulse of Porsche connoisseurs. Models such as the legendary Carrera RS 2.7 of 1972, the 1991 964 911 RS, the 2004 996 GT3 RS, the 2007 997 GT3 RS, 2015 991.1 GT3 RS and 2018 991.2 GT3 RS are all normally aspirated sports cars that stand out on account of their extreme degree of manoeuvrability and handling.
The Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 RS is the original RS Porsche; a lightweight car that was designed by Porsche to be as light and fast as possible, weighing in at only 975kg. 2.7 RS's have an impressive top speed of 150mph and performance figures of 0-65mph in just 5.8 seconds.
This 2.7 Carrera RS (M472 or "Touring") was delivered new by AFN Middlesex in 1973. As one of just 96 RHD C16 (UK supplied) cars it is indeed a rare opportunity. Originally supplied in Signal Yellow, as presented today, it is also one of 87 such examples to be built in this shade out of the 1580 cars built.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms it left the factory with the following options.

- Signal Yellow (5252)
- Heated rear window (102)
- Black Leatherette and corduroy (12)
- Sports seats L&R (409)
- Outside mirror on drivers side (423)
- Electric windows (651)

This example benefits from its complete book pack, including drivers manual, maintenance record, Porsche Service book and most notably, RS supplement in English.

The comprehensive history file with the car documents routine servicing by AFN Porsche Middlesex throughout the late 1970s. From 1980 until 2008, the car was serviced almost exclusively by local to DK (at the time) based Porsche specialists Autofarm.

After which it was cared for by Porsche specialists Parr Performance ahead of their restoration. The car competed in the Tour De Espana Rally in 2010 and the Tour Britannia in 2011. Post restoration it was entered into the Hurlingham Club Concours in 2013.

Spending much of its life refinished in Grand Prix White with blue decals, it wasn't until a comprehensive restoration by Parr Performance in 2010 that it was returned to its original specification. This fully documented restoration highlights the bare metal respray and overhaul of all parts.

Following on from this restoration (which was completed in 2013), in the hands of the current custodian, the car was subjected to an inspection by world renowned specialist, Andy Prill. Some further works were carried out at this time to further bring this car to concours and period correct standard throughout.

This 2.7RS Touring presents a rare opportunity to acquire one for the finest examples in the world. Paired with the complete book pack and colour combination, this is an opportunity not to be missed. The 2.7 RST is available to view immediately at our showrooms just outside London.
