Ferrari F12 TdF

Re-using a nickname given to the original 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione after its win of the Tour de France Automobile in 1956, the F12 Tour de France (TdF) is the latest limited edition front-engined, Ferrari V12 GT car. At its heart, the 6.3 litre V12 lifted from the F12 Berlinetta, uprated from an already hefty 730bhp to 769bhp with an 8900rpm rev limit. This affords the naturally aspirated F12TdF 123bhp per litre, through the use of a revised inlet manifold and mechanical rather than hydraulic tappets.

Shorter gear ratios enable a 2.9 second sprint to 60mph with 120mph just five seconds later. These changes make for a 1:21.00 lap of Fiorano, second only to the LaFerrari by 1.3 seconds. The F12 TdF is 110kg lighter than the F12, thanks to the prominent use of Alcantara and Carbon Fibre in the interior instead of Leather and Aluminium, and the extensive use of Carbon Fibre on the outside. Fitted for the first time on a Ferrari road car the TDF creates a ‘virtual short wheelbase’ system through the use of active rear-wheel steering; actuators on the toe link add up to a degree of angle greatly increasing stability. Visually the F12 TDF draws many cues from great Ferrari GT cars.

This UK supplied RHD example has covered just 1,200 miles from new with its first and only owner. A Ferrari Tailor Made example, this car would have been optioned at the factory with a wealth of flexibility not usually available in the Ferrari Main dealerships.
Delivered new in March 2017, this example was ordered in Extra-Range Bianco Italia triple-layer metallic paint with an Extra-Range livery in Blu Tour de France, a nod to the 599 GTO stripe that featured prominently on white examples. Further options were chosen through the Tailor Made program; in fact making this the first example we have seen to be optioned with coloured Carbon Fibre. The interior receives full Matte Blu Carbon Fibre, the exterior with Gloss Blu Carbon Fibre.

Inside the car benefits from extended Alcantara in Blu Scuro with details in Blu Sterling and stitching in Bianco. Cavallinos are stitched in to the headrests in Bianco. The roof lining, boot trim & carpet, centre console, upper & lower dashboard, upper trim and rear partition are all trimmed in the elegant and sporting Blu Scuro.
Whilst the Blu Scuro Alcantara is itself is dark on the whole, it is certainly a noticeably lighter difference over the more common Nero Alcantara found in the F12 TdF.
This F12 TdF also welcomes a desirable list of options over the bespoke livery and interior. The car is outfitted with necessary Front Axle Vehicle Lifting system, 20” Dark painted forged rims with Giallo Brake calipers and Scuderia Wing Shields.
