The F430 Scuderia was revealed by Ferrari in July 2007 ahead of the Frankfurt Motorshow two months later. and was the most potent road-legal version of the model produced by the factory. A gap had been left since the 360 Challenge Stradale production ended in 2005, and this model filled it being like its predecessor lighter, more powerful, rawer and technologically more advanced than its standard sibling.
Thanks to a high compression motor with re-mapped engine management and a sports exhaust, output was up from 483 to 510bhp, this being developed at an unchanged 8500rpm. The F1 transmission also came in for some attention, F430 Scuderia's using Ferrari's latest generation 'Superfast' software that reduced gear change time to just 60 milliseconds. Other important developments were made including a new traction control system that combined the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system; E-Diff-2.
Ride-height was dropped by 15mm, firmer springs and dampers being installed along with bigger carbon ceramic brake discs, the front calipers being uprated to 6-piston items. Visually the Scuderia received new 19-inch double spoke wheels as well as the introduction of a series of aero refinements that lent the Scuderia a more aggressive look than on the standard F430. Restyled front intake grilles were larger and more angular, the back-end featuring a carbon fibre diffuser with centrally-exiting Challenge exhaust tips and new exhaust surround. A Challenge rear grille came as standard, carbon fibre being used for the wing mirrors, engine bay vents and strut supports.
This example was supplied new to AutoHaus Ulrich in Frankfurt, Germany in February 2008 to the specification of the Frankfurt car, revealed just 6 months earlier. The car is presented in Avio Metallic with contrasting Grigio Racing livery and Grigio wheels. As per the Motorshow launch car, the brake calipers are finished in Giallo and the interior echoes the theme; full charcoal Alcantara with Nero Tessuto inserts and a flash of colour from the centrally placed Giallo rev counter. The car is equipped with car 4-point harnesses, radio with navigation and a cabin mounted Alcantara-wrapped fire extinguisher.
The first owner ticked all the carbon fibre options on this car so on the outside the car receives the front insert, rear diffuser, rear Challenge grille and underdoor sill covers all in carbon fibre. Inside, the car features the carbon fibre steering wheel with LED lights, carbon fibre dashboard inserts and carbon fibre racing seats.
Spending three years in Germany, the car was sold to its second owner in Sweden where it remained for two years before being imported to the UK in 2014. Since registration in the UK, the car has had three keepers. We have known the car since 2014 and sold the car to its current and previous keeper. Since 2015 the car has been used sparingly, covering just 2,750 miles in the past 5 years.
In January 2021 the car received a major and comprehensive service in our workshops including a full brake overhaul.
Having covered 19,900 miles from new, this fantastic example is ready to be used and enjoyed. Coming complete with history file, cover, toolkit and stamped service books, it is available to view at our showrooms just outside London immediately.
