At its launch it was the fastest V8 supercar ever produced by Ferrari, the 458 Speciale really needs no introduction. The already spectacular 458 platform benefits from a huge host of alterations including increased power which equates to the most driver-focussed Ferrari V8 ever produced. The increased power means the 458's Motor held a World Record for naturally aspirated output. The 458 Speciale's 605HP equates to 135hp/litre, an astonishing output. Perhaps not surprisingly, the 458 Speciale won the prestigious "2013 Supercar of the Year" award from Top Gear Magazine and 2014 Evo Magazine "Car of the Year".
Autocar Magazine formed the following conclusion on testing the awe-inspiring Speciale: "The mid-engined Ferrari supercar has reached a turning point, it strikes us - and there may never be a better one for purist thrill-seekers than the one you see here. Replaced by the '458M' – 488 GTB for want of the official name: a mid-life refresh of the chassis that introduced a new turbocharged engine.
Looking back at what the introduction of turbochargers have done to BMW M cars, AMG Mercs, Porsche 911s and more in this modern performance car era - and seldom do we universally approve. The final and ultimate development of the naturally-aspirated, mid-engined Ferrari concept: a zenith in some ways, perhaps.
The car to mark it could hardly be more aptly named or purposefully constructed." Cut from the same cloth as the legendary Challenge Stradale and Scuderia, the Speciale is the last instalment in this hugely collectable line of naturally aspirated thrilling V8 supercars.
This example has covered just 2,200 miles from new and was optioned from new in the classical two-tone livery re-introduced on the V8 series cars with the 458 Coupe. The main body is finished in Rosso Scuderia, a colour used on Ferrari Formula 1 cars in the early 2000s making its introduction on the Challenge Stradale. A slightly brighter red, with a slight orange hue was designed to make the F1 cars at the time look more ‘red’ on television, to counter colour-distortion. Rosso Scuderia on this car is paired with a Nero DS roof.
Inside this Speciale features Nero Alcantara with Rosso Tessuto seat inserts, complementing Rosso stitching and Rosso FX headlining. This example benefits from a number of desirable options including the carbon fibre racing seats, carbon fibre front flaps, carbon fibre front airvents, carbon fibre side nolders and carbon fibre engine covers. Radio navigation with Bluetooth, parking camera with front and rear sensors, as well as electrochromic mirrors, are also fitted.
Outside the car receives Giallo brake calipers behind Grigio Opaco wheels and Scuderia shields.
This fantastic UK supplied 2-owner 458 Speciale today presents with just 2,200 miles from new. A rare two-tone specification with desirable options, this example is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately, available to view at our showrooms just outside London.
