Introduced for the 1996 model year, the 993-generation 911 Turbo was Porsche’s first 911 Turbo to boast four-wheel drive. The 3.6-litre engine was fitted with a pair of KKK K16 turbochargers and Bosch M5.2 engine management. Output was 408bhp at 5750rpm. Performance was explosive with a top speed of 184mph and 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds. Like all turbocharged 911's, this latest variant received heavily flared wheel arches and a static rear spoiler.

One year later, Porsche introduced the 993-generation Turbo S, which would become the last air-cooled 911 Turbo, truly the end of an era. This new car boasted a number of upgrades including the Aerokit II front and rear spoilers, brake cooling ducts alongside the front indicators, an additional oil cooler, a stiffer suspension with lowered ride height by 15mm, additional engine cooling inlets carved into the car’s rear bodywork, yellow-painted six-piston brake calipers, and numerous carbon fibre interior trim pieces. Power was raised to 450 bhp through installing larger K-24 turbhochargers and a different exhaust, making this Porsche’s most powerful road-going production engine at the time of its unveiling.

For the 993 Turbo S, U.K. production was quoted at just 23 cars, making them hugely rare and sought after, and the Turbo S offered here is one such U.K. delivery, RHD example. It was delivered new to the director of Evans Halshaw as his own personal car in March 1998. Finished in Speed Yellow over black leather, it is equipped with several optional extras including a top-tint screen, third brake light, sport seats with electronic height adjustment in black leather and seatbacks painted to match the exterior, and a sunroof.

Remaining in the U.K. from new, DK Engineering had the pleasure of selling this car to its fourth owner in 2011 who retained the car for the next ten years, accumulating roughly 8,000 mi miles over the course of his custodianship. The accompanying service manuals confirms that the car has travelled just under 62,000 miles from new, with its last major service undertaken by Jasmine PorshaLink U.K. in December 2020, at which time the car was also fitted with four new tyres. Furthermore, the car has been fully repainted with new rubber components throughout where necessary, the wheels have been refurbished, and the underside has been detailed in an effort to make the car look as-new throughout. Additionally, the car has been fitted with a new Blaupunkt Bluetooth stereo, styled to be period-correct as to fit in seamlessly with the rest of the dashboard.

The 911 remains in beautiful condition throughout, having been driven less than 500 miles since its last major service roughly six months ago. Currently located at our facilities just outside London, this 993 Turbo S is ready to drive and enjoy.
