875152 is a rare all matching numbers, very early, "flat floor, outside bonnet lock" 3.8L Jaguar E type roadster. The car was completed in June 1961 and delivered as a LHD car to Jaguar Cars New York. Being such an early car, aside from the outside bonnet locks and flat floors, it also features the very early bonnet construction of welded seams and cooling louvers only seen on a small number of cars. It also features some riveted braketry, again only seen on the very early hand built cars.

The car was repatriated to the UK in 2011. It had spent the majority of its life in Texas and as a result this matching numbers car was found to be in exceedingly rust free and original condition; a real rarity today.

The car was entrusted to known marque specialists in the UK for a comprehensive restoration. Particular emphasis was put on maintaining as much originality as possible - only items that NEEDED replacing were replaced. The car retains as much of its original shell and components as was possible resulting in a near faultless car with its original body shell and major panels.

A detailed photographic record was made before the car was stripped and as it was being stripped to document the absolute correctness of the vehicle. As the car was restored, the decision was made not to upgrade or apply any modern modifications leaving the car as pure as the day it left the factory, albeit in probably in better than new condition with extra effort being made during restoration with respect to panel fit and finishes.

Since its completion just over a year ago the car has been barely run in having covered just over 1,000 miles. During this period any snagging items have been attended with the result that the car is absolutely on the button and ready to be driven to Monaco and back by its next custodian. It is not only really hard to find such a well restored example but also such a detail correct and original car is almost non-existent. This is simply an opportunity not to be missed.
