The much sought-after Ferrari 246 Dino GT was named after Enzo Ferrari's son Alfredino, who died in 1956, aged 24 years. Enzo Ferrari credits his son with the inspiration for a series of successful small and medium capacity V6 racing engines built by Ferrari from 1956, and in turn the name was given to a new line of mid-engined production Ferrari V6 coupés, which first went on sale in 1969. The Dino 246GT has proved to be one of the most satisfying and successful automobiles built by Ferrari and paved the way for the emerging generation of mid-engined Ferraris. It is widely regarded as one of the best-handling and most gratifying automobiles of the early 70s, it is one of the most attractive, delicately balanced designs ever produced by the masters at Pininfarina. Dinos have enjoyed a well-deserved recent surge in popularity.

Chassis 06092 was delivered in May 1973 as a Dino GT finished in Rosso Chiaro with Nero Daytona seats and fitted headlamp covers to William Latham esq of London. Mr Latham enjoyed this Dino greatly covering 17,000 miles in just his first year of ownership alone by June 1974. By September 1982 Mr latham had covered 46,929 miles having the car regularly serviced by Graypaul motors, a service history that accompanied the car to this day along with all the MOT's from that time. At this point the car was parked up for some 12 years until it was purchased by its second owner in 1994, a Mr Percival with a recorded mileage of 47,000 miles (just 71 miles covered in 12 years!).

Mr Percival enjoyed the car greatly regularly exercising the car in France covering a further 4,500 miles in one year when in July 1995 the car was entrusted to Nick Cartwright, a leading Dino expert, for a full restoration to concours standard. This restoration continued until it was completed in mid-1998 being finished in the exact specification it was originally delivered right down to the headlamp covers. Mr Percival again enjoyed the car once more until the decision was made to sell the vehicle. In late 2000 the vehicle was purchased by its 3rd owner when the speedo showed the car had covered 52,638 miles. During this period the car was used very sparingly covering only a few hundred miles each year until again the car passed into the hands of a new owner, the fourth in 2007.

In 2009 DK Engineering were instructed by a client to find the finest 246 GT available at the time, the car had to be a totally restored GT, a late series example and finished in Rosso Chiaro with Nero Daytona seats from new. The car presented today was the result of that search. The car has been stored with DK and maintained by DK ever since. The owner has covered some 4,500 miles in the car and in total it has now covered approximately 61,000 documented miles from new. As would be expected the car has been maintained at no expense spared and in 2012 received a no expense spared major service including new tyres all round.

DK Engineering are proud to offer this Dino GT made so desirable by its expansive and complete history file, its stunning standard of finish (to exact original specification), and low ownership history having had only 5 previous keepers.
