The 458 Spider was premiered at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and is the convertible variant of the 458 Italia. It features an aluminium retractable hardtop which, according to Ferrari, weighs 25 kilograms less than a soft roof such as the one found on the Ferrari F430 Spider. This was the first Ferrari to feature a solid roof such as this and it can be opened in just 14 seconds giving the best of both worlds.
The engine cover was redesigned to accommodate the retractable roof system. The Spider has the same 0-60 mph time as the hard-top and a top speed of 199 mph.
This example has a spectacular, and extremely expensive, specification and was delivered in March 2012 as a UK car. It is finished in magnificent white with black interior and red stitching, the seats are full leather with red stitched prancing horses on the headrests.
The interior features a carbon driving zone and a steering wheel with LED shift lights. On the exterior the car has a rather special painted Italian flag on the wing mirror. It also features red calipers, Nero coated exhaust tips, Scuderia wing shields, carbon sills, carbon fuel filler, carbon rear valence and carbon look wheels. Finally the car benefits from parking sensors all round, a reversing camera and the London-essential front lifting system.
The car has covered 5,900 miles from new, has recently been serviced and is supplied in superb condition throughout with the balance of its warranty and 7 year service package.
