The Ferrari Testarossa was first unveiled at the 1984 Paris Auto Show, quickly becoming the poster car of a generation. The design that would rival the Lamborghini Countach was a drastic change from the 512 BB that the car was derived from. Not only did Ferrari sway from the smooth lines seen on its prior cars, they also radically changed the engine from what was formally seen in the BB. This new car had four-valves per cylinder, Marelli electronic ignition, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, and was quoted as being capable of producing 390 bhp from the 4943 cc horizontally opposed 12 cylinder engine. The 0 to 60 mph time was quoted as an impressive (even by today's standards) time of 5.3 seconds and top speed was over 180 mph. All versions of the Testarossa were rear wheel drive and had a rear-mounted, five-speed manual transmission. The interior also benefited from significant upgrades, mainly revolving around a greater finish and more space for both passengers and luggage, to allow this V12 supercar to also be used on Grand Tours with upmost comfort.

This Testarossa was originally supplied by the main dealer in Rome "SA.MO.CAR" in August 1991; it was supplied in the stunning and very rare Blu Scuro - it is said to be one of only five such cars built. The first owner Massimo Mariotti had the car registered in his company name before it was sold in 2001 to an elderly gentleman from Perugia named Francesco Cremonia, who owned the car until 2004 when it was then sold to its final Italian owner Renato Rodina (also from Perugia). Whilst in Perugia the car had been regularly maintained by the Main Dealer "CdP" based in the city centre. The car had been worked on solely by the chief technician Mirco Cricco, who is an extremely well respected technician and is regularly called to the factory in Maranello for special projects. Between 2001 and 2015 this special Testarossa was brought in to the dealership every year for Mirco to examine.

DK Engineering purchased the car in Perugia, Italy in May 2015 for a collector in the UK who specifically wanted a Testarossa in this very rare colour. Upon inspection we found a very original car and were extremely impressed by the condition. Subsequently it was purchased and transported back to the UK.

The car was then registered in the UK in 2015 and at that time DK carried out a cosmetic overhaul and a major service to ensure the car was in the finest possible condition. The Engine and gearbox were removed and the engine bay and components detailed, all belts and auxiliaries were replaced as were the spark plugs as part of the major service. The wheels, which had never been painted and still bore the original blue factory PDI stickers, were fitted with 4 new tyres. The black front skirt was repainted black and the paintwork was detailed but not repainted. A state of the art stereo was fitted very discretely and a brand new carpet set was made to exacting specifications to compliment the detailed original seats and dashboard leather by Rorky O'Rourke.

This unique and striking Testarossa is now presented in stunning condition complete with History File and all service books. The car has covered a total of just 28,000 kms (or 17,000 miles) from new. It presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a very special and almost unique 80s icon.
