Launched in 2013, the Laferrari marks Ferrari’s first foray into the world of hybridised hypercars. Breaking the trend of the ‘F’ nomenclature, the car follows the roughly 10 year gap that separated the Enzo from the F50. Retaining the much-loved formula, Ferrari assisted their naturally-aspirated V12 with 160hp and 200lb ft of torque from an electric motor. Combined the Laferrari generates 950bhp and 715lb ft of torque. Unlike its rivals systems that offer an electric-only mode, the electrical system has been designed to work at maximum output all of the time, as such creating a ‘torque-fill’ effect working in combination with the V12.
Derived from Formula 1 technology, the Laferrari regenerates energy at every given opportunity with the brakes, ABS, TCS and E-Diff recuperating any energy possible. As such the car produces more power and less weight than any of the hypercar ‘trilogy’, the Laferrari would remain a firm poster car and fan favourite.
With an official build number of just 499 examples during the production window, the Laferrari was sold exclusively to Ferrari’s best clients. Seeing it debut at the Geneva Motorshow in 2013 in Rosso Corsa, a large number of cars were built to echo this launch specification.
This example is a little different though. A later supplied example, this car presents in the modern Nuovo Rosso F1 2007 with a Nero DS roof and a wealth of carbon fibre options not available at launch.
Early examples missed out on the exterior carbon fibre options due to complications in production; consequently, this car benefits from all the sought-after options, including the carbon fibre front splitter, carbon fibre side skirts, carbon fibre rear diffuser, carbon fibre centre caps and carbon fibre rear fog light.
The wheels are finished in Grigio Silverstone in front of nero brake calipers.
Inside, the nero seats make use of a rosso highlight piping bringing the outside colour in. The seats also see a rosso contrast stitch with a contrasting Giallo Rev counter. The cabin benefits from the Alcantara upper cabin, including doors, dashboard and binnacle with a steering wheel grips. The lower dashboard, door grips and knee pads are finished to match the seats in nero leather. The rosso stitching continues to the sunvisors and steering wheel, with rosso stitched headrest Cavallinos and a rosso dashboard Dreamline.
Additionally, carbon fibre is used extensively inside, the central transmission tunnel, door cards, dashboard inserts and steering wheel.
Optioned from new with front axle lifting system, track telemetry and track cameras, this example has all the desirable options ticked. Further options include the sports exhaust, passenger seat fire extinguisher in Alcantara, body-coloured mirrors and the nero opaco Cavallino at the rear of the car.
This stunning example presents a rare opportunity to acquire an elegantly specified Laferrari. This UK supplied example was first delivered in January 2016 and has since covered just 160 miles from new. Dry stored with us in our secure facility and with up to date service invoices, this example will return to the main dealer for its scheduled annual maintenance as part of the sale.
