The Gallardo project began back in 1998 when Audi took control of the Italian manufacturer and started with a clean sheet of paper. Thanks to the German marque's financial and technological prowess, the new model was a superbly engineered machine that performance-wise trounced Ferrari's 360 Modena.
7 years of developments later and we have the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. Carbon Fibre heavy, Alcantara laden, a sharpened chassis, and overall, a lightened thoroughbred of an already pin-point LP560-4. A not insignificant weight saving of 80kgs is largely circumnavigated from the interior, which positively affects the centre of the car's gravity. Carbon Fibre is the material of choice for the Seat shells, Door cards, Interior Panels, Transmission Tunnel, Wing Mirrors, Rear Spoiler, Side Skirts, and Rear Diffuser, to name but a few. The Rear Side Windows and the Rear Window are made of Polycarbonate.
The removal of 80Kgs reduces the weight down to 1,340kg. With the addition of 10BHP the power to weight ratio increases to 399 BHP per ton. Much the same as 2004 with the Gallardo and the Ferrari 360 Modena, the LP570-4 outdoes the 458 in 2011! This Gallardo does not disappoint when it comes to excitement. The Lamborghini official figures claim 0-124mph in 10.2sec, which is quicker than the 458, and it feels capable of meeting the claim.
First registered by Lamborghini Birmingham in September 2011 and presented in the most fitting colour for the model, Verde Ithaca. Teamed with Grey Alcantara dash and seats, the Green stitching and detail are exacting. The spec’d Verde Brake Callipers working with the optional Carbon Ceramic discs continue the Green and lightweight theme inside to out. Positioned in the Rear Spoiler is the welcomed Reverse Camera. Chassis No. 11336 has been regularly and only maintained by Lamborghini Main Service Centres with no less than 8 visits spanning the 17,500 miles shown on the odometer.
