Mercedes-Benz AMG GTC Premium (2019)

Mercedes introduced the AMG GTC to their line up in 2017 to sit between the savage, track-focussed AMG GTR and the more basic GT and GT-S models. The model retained the familiar ‘Hot-Vee’ twin-turbocharged 4.0 litre V8, but with power and torque increased to 549bhp and 502lb ft respectively. With the turbos neatly positioned within the cylinder banks, throttle response and power linearity are almost on par with the very best naturally aspirated engines. Among a host of smaller changes to the model, the AMG GTC also features the electronically controlled limited-slip differential from the AMG GTR, not present on the base GT model.

Visually, the GTC stands out from the base GT and GT S model with its flared rear wheel arches. The arches are 57mm wider than the GT S, while its rear track width is 44mm wider than the base GT. In fact, the entire rear axle in the GTC Roadster is lifted from the GTR, meaning that this model retains the rear-wheel steering of the track focused car. The fabric multi-layer, folding-roof mechanism can be retracted in just 11 seconds, allowing greater access to the thunderous, V8 soundtrack. Adaptive dampers mean that the ride quality can be adjusted according to the mood of the drive or the nature of the road.

Delivered new in November of 2019, our car has covered just 13,700 miles in the hands of only two owners.
