Aston Martin and Zagato share a rich and illustrious relationship spanning over 59 years. The DB4 GT being the first model to receive the flair and creativity of the Milan-based coachbuilder.

The DB4 GT Zagato, a honed lightweight race car which is not only hugely competitive on the circuit, but isn’t too bad at achieving over 6 figures at auction. Registration “2 VEV” sold for over £10m at the Goodwood sale. Later limited run models released by the duo include the 1986 V8 Vantage Zagato, the 2002 DB7 Vantage Zagato and then the road and race model of the 2011 V12 Vantage Zagato. Each of the hand-crafted auto cars receiving a strong following and consequently a firm market positioning.

The concept Vanquish Zagato was first shown at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in May 2016. Customer interest subsequently persuaded Aston Martin to announce a limited run of just 99 cars worldwide. Their best clientele being rewarded with the opportunity to option the model as they wished. The bodywork of the Vanquish Zagato is made of carbon-fibre, with large, one-piece panels for a smooth and seamless appearance. Classic Zagato signatures include the round tail-light reflectors and the famous ‘double-bubble’ roof, originally designed to create space for driver and co-driver’s helmets. The Vanquish Zagato’s glasshouse wraps around the bodywork like a visor, emphasising its aggressive stance. The Shooting Brake takes on a functional formation and in true Shooting Brake form, the aesthetics are wild from each and every way you absorb its proportions.

In 2019 the first owner purchased a matching pair of UK RHD Shooting Brakes. We handled the sale of both of these cars at the time, with this being the second of those examples.

First registered in May 2019 this two-owner Shooting Brake has covered just 2,400 miles from new. This example features the Lava Red metallic paint exclusive to the Zagato - contrasting magnificently with the optional visual carbon fibre roof panel and electrochromic, variable opacity, glass roof insert. Q gloss black, diamond-turned wheels cover the optioned black brake calipers, the black side window trim and black exhaust tips completing the discreet look. The exterior is additionally optioned with visual carbon fibre Side Fender and carbon fibre side strakes.

In the cabin, the car is optioned with the upgraded forged Carbon Fibre Centre Console and ventilated seats with embroidered ‘Z’ logo. One-77 Full Leather Steering Wheels and Black Leather Seats with subtle Z stitching, the switchgear is finished in the option Shadow Bronze Jewellery Pack.
