In keeping with Ferrari’s model revision schedule, the 812 (internally F152M) provided the heavily revised successor to the F12; a car which at its launch was the fastest Ferrari ever. The 812 brought several hefty updates and new componentry to the game, far more than just a power hike! Welcoming a number of transmission, aerodynamic, suspension, and steering revisions along with an entirely new body, the first car designed entirely in-house at Ferrari.
In true Ferrari fashion, the 812 raised the stakes above even that of the limited run-out F12tdf. A larger capacity V12 meant power is now up a further 20 bhp from the F12tdf, and whilst the torque gain of 10 lb/ft may seem nominal, a monstrous 80% of this is available from just 3,500 rpm.
The 812 further inherited a number of technological advances first seen in the F12tdf. The chassis technology including the ‘virtual short wheelbase’ four-wheel steering system including direct inheritance of the F12tdf steering rack enables the large GT car to defy its dimensions entirely, resulting in a much smaller and more nimble driving experience.
Two years after the launch of the 812 Superfast and after a 50-year hiatus, the 812 GTS was launched and showcased the Italian marques first series production V12 convertible since the 1969 365 GTS/4 ‘Daytona’ Spider. With the absence of a fixed roof, revisions were made for the car’s chassis and aerodynamic properties resulting in a 75kg weight gain, but handling and performance characteristics remained that of its coupe counterpart.
Supplied new via H.R. Owen Ferrari London on the 27th of November 2020, this 812 GTS was delivered to a VIP client of Ferrari. As such, the car was one of the first publicly supplied 812 GTS examples in the UK, with demonstrator cars landing just three months prior.
The car presents in the rare shade of Bianco Fuji; a triple layer paint offered from Ferrari’s exclusive extra-campionario palette. The pearlescent exterior is paired with a Charcoal leather and Alcantara interior. Colour aside, the asymmetrical seats are almost certainly the car’s most unique feature. In April 2022, at the cost of over £21,000, the current custodian requested that Ferrari supply an additional Carbon Racing Seat trimmed in Bordeaux Leather with a Blu Sterling central stripe. This unusual request was approved by the factory, and the new seat was subsequently installed by the supplying dealer, H.R Owen Ferrari, a month later. The installation of the seat completed the striking 'Tailor Made' inspired configuration in which the car presents today.
In addition to the extensive carbon fibre, both externally and internally, this example has also been equipped with a wealth of comforting options such as Apple CarPlay, Suspension Lifter, Surround View and Hi-Fi.
The full specification of the 812 GTS is outlined below:
With full Ferrari service history from supplying dealer H.R. Owen of London, this single owner 812 GTS is offered with full PPF (paint protection film) and has covered just 910 miles. Accompanied by its complete Ferrari book pack, car cover, tool kit and charger, this example is now available to view at our showrooms, just outside of London.
