Ferrari 575 Superamerica F1

The Ferrari 575 Superamerica was designed by Pininfarina as an exclusive low volume V12 Ferrari berlinetta featuring a highly original, innovative take on the convertible concept. The Superamerica was the first production car to adopt an innovative rotating roof movement in combination with electrochromic technology developed exclusively for glass surfaces of these dimensions, with Saint Gobain. The Fioravanti-patented rotating roof concept allows the Superamerica driver to electrically drop the top in 10 seconds flat, making it the world's fastest convertible berlinetta (201 MPH top speed).

The Superamerica's unusual electric roof was dubbed Revocromico to highlight the unique combination of its rearward rotation movement and electrochromic technology. It has a carbon-fibre structure and the boot capacity remains unchanged whether the roof is open or closed too. The glass rear window also acts as a highly effective wind deflector when the roof is open.The use of electrochromic glass means that the driver can completely control the level of light entering the cockpit. There are five tint levels available and the glass can go from dark to light in under a minute, at the touch of a button. Derived from the 575M Maranello, the Superamerica was available with either an F1-style or (although rare) manual gearbox. The V12 was enhanced to deliver 540 hp.

This RHD UK example is the only car supplied in Grigio Silverstone with Rosso leather and was delivered new in April 2006 to its first owner. The car is an extremely high specification and is equipped with the Fiorano Handling Pack, Rosso Daytona Seats, Red Rev Counter, Bose High Power Hi-fi, Scuderia Wingshields, Black Carpts and NavTrak. Having had just three owners from new and maintained with no expense spared, this example is presented in a fantastic condition. DK supplied the car to the current owner in 2012 at which point we carried out a major service which amongst many other items including a cambelt change, further to this the car has just had an additional annual service to ensure she is in a rude bill of health. Prior to our involvement the car had been maintained exclusively by the main dealer network. It is well-known that the original supplied roof mechanisms on Superamericas suffered from problems and only after production had ceased were these problems properly identified. In January 2012 the entire roof mechanism on this example was replaced by Maranello Ferrari for the new updated roof and mechanism. The car has benefitted from regular usage and the total mileage now stands at 31,000. This exceptional, rare and stunning Superamerica is available immediately to be used and enjoyed.
