The Ferrari 275 was first unveiled at the Paris motor show of 1964 and was hailed as the successor to the legendary Ferrari 250 GT. The car had excellent balance, poise and weight distribution thanks to independent rear suspension and a rear-mounted 5-speed transaxle. In addition, the engine was shifted backwards in order to bring as much weight as possible towards the centre of the car. Ferrari eventually released a redesigned nose for the model, which was longer and aimed to enhance the aerodynamic abilities of the car at high speed. Therefore, only 239 Short Nose examples were produced and their rarity and undoubted stunning looks have made these cars highly collectible and they are now considered the prized assets of many collections. The original form is often regarded as the purist form.

This LHD Ferrari 275 GTB "Short Nose" was completed in early 1965 and was originally finished in Bleu 18942 over a Beige VM 3218 Hide interior. The car was first delivered to the official dealer VECAR S.r.l. located in Rome and sold to its first private owner on the 17th March 1965. Remaining in Rome until 1967, it was later sold in June 1967 via dealer Cesare Nava to Mrs Antonietta Perucchini for 100,000 Italian Lire and re registered on Italian license plates of Bergamo "BG 159520".

During the 1970's, and like many others, it was subsequently sold and exported to the USA. Robert Frunz a resident of Orange, California owned the car during the early period of the 1980's. David L'Episcopo of Balwin, New York purchased the car shortly after and would drive it until he advertised it for sale in the 1988 Ferrari Market Letter with just 33,000 original kms.

Randy Simon purchased the GTB "complete with some extra parts" from L'Episcopo on the 17th June, 1988 and it was soon after subjected to a most comprehensive and long restoration. Initially the mechanicals were completed by marque specialists KTR Engineering of Massachusetts, in which all mechanical components were restored. Remarkably Randy remained the proud owner for almost 24 years without managing to complete the restoration before selling the car to its most recent owner and good friend of DK's in January 2011. At that time the metal work and paintwork was completed and under its new ownership the car debuted at the 2011 Palm Beach Cavallino Classic. Over the last six years the car has been used and enjoyed as it should be but only in fair weather with regular maintenance being undertaken as documented by its history file.

Today this 275 has covered just 39,700 Kilometres from new and is presented in its original colour of Blu Scuro. Having been cared for with no expense spared both mechanically and aesthetically it is offered in a most exceptional condition. Please note the car now benefits from the desirable 6 carburettor upgraded configuration but the original 3 carb set up accompanies the vehicle. This exceptional 275 is located just outside London and is available to view immediately at our showrooms just outside London.
