McLaren P1 (2015)

Having returned to road car production with the McLaren MP4-12C kick starting the McLaren Super Series, it was immediately looked upon to create the "new F1", a car that would once again fix the McLaren brand at the forefront of automotive performance.

Making use of a carbon fibre monocoque chassis and all carbon body panels, the P1 paired together a twin-turbo V8 producing 727 brake horsepower and 720 Nm of torque and a hybrid electric motor serving to "torque fill" any gaps in peak performance. This combination works to offer the driver maximum power at all times. The electric motor produces 176 horsepower, and when combined with the twin turbo petrol engine, maximum output is a remarkable 903 horsepower.

The astounding performance figures help accelerate the P1 from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, 0-120 in 6.8 seconds, 0-180 mph in 16.5 seconds (a whole 5 seconds faster than the F1) and ultimately it reaches an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph.

This P1 was completed in 2015. The car is finished in the "Exterior Special Paint" option of Amethyst Black Metallic, a mystical dark purple in direct sunlight. The colour was made famous by the original test car, used for TV and magazine writeups. The cabin features Violet Leather topped Seats and upper window sills with Charcoal Alcantara seat centres and a combination of purple and grey stitching on their respective inserts.
