Over the past ten years, the Zoute Concours d’Elegance has steadily grown from its inception. 2019 saw a better year than ever before presenting more than 50 unique and exceptional classic cars. The event welcomed a number of famous names from the motoring world including Jacky Ickx and Jean Todt and is one of several events held as part of the wider Zoute Grand Prix including a Bonhams auction.
The prestigious Concours competition was held at the Royal Zoute Golf club, with a selection of hypercars on display alongside their classic counterparts. Seen as a closing event for the motoring calendar, DK were proud to support two cars in the concours, delivering them from our base in the UK to the small Belgian seaside resort.
Marking the final stop for Ferrari 166 #0008M on its European tour, having arrived into DK’s care in early July, and since visiting a number of international concours. The car was detailed and prepared once more by ourselves and with another fantastic victory, received the top-tier Best of Show award.
Alongside the 166 we also supported a fascinating one-off Ferrari 250 Europa, delivered new to Princess Liliane de Rethy in Verde Scuro with a Bianco Vinyl roof. In our care since Salon Prive, and following some remedial suspension work in our wokrshops, in early September the Europa was detailed and delivered to Zoute and will return with its Best Post-war Class win award.
The final car we supported at Zoute, the ex-Woolf Barnato 1930 Gurney Nutting-bodied Bentley 4.5 Blower arrived with us ahead of Salon Prive. Delivering the car and supporting the presentation where it received People’s Choice award, adds another award to its belt, this time taking home the Best Pre-War Bentley Class award.
Both the Bentley and 166 will now return to their owner in USA. DK are privileged and grateful to have been tasked with preparing and delivering the cars to a number of events over the past few months.
