Supercar Driver Private Evening July 2020

Whilst we had planned to host SupercarDriver earlier this year, lockdown in the UK meant that a tour - of our entire facility - had been carried out virtually (Available below). With restrictions easing more recently, we were able to welcome a very reduced number of members through our gates for a socially-distanced evening after work.

With numbers strictly limited, places were snapped up quickly and we were fortunate to receive fantastic weather for the event. SupercarDriver members brought a broad selection of cars, ranging from the likes of the timeless Ferrari 355 and venerable Audi R8 to the most modern hypercars in the form of the Koenigsegg Regera and Agera R, with several timeless classics such as the Ferrari F40 and Porsche Carrera GT in between.

We were proud to display a fantastic selection of our available stock, ranging from our ‘Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing’ 430 Challenge-powered Ferrari Mondial, an F40, a selection of Ferrari 275s, F12 TDF, 288 GTO and more.

Our workshops were filled, as usual, this occasion, in particular, showcasing the breadth of cars in our care. On the ramps, we had one of 36 original Ferrari 250 GTOs. This example saw regular competition in 1963-65 winning several events and 2nd IC in 1965 at the Nurburgring 1000km. We have cared for this car since its purchase by the current owner in the early 1980s.

In for an inspection in our new workshop, 1 of just 6 Mercedes Benz CLK GTR Roadsters produced and the sole RHD example. Along with a handful of Ferrari F40s in our care at the moment, our workshops offered visitors the chance to see a 250 Berlinetta Lusso in bare metal form, just metres from the black example we completed and sold late last year after a comprehensive two-year restoration. Causing a bit of a stir in the display area of the workshops was one of the first UK customer-delivered McLaren Speedtails, a car that will be stored with us as part of our collection management service in our secure facility.

The simple sign-in (Track & Trace) on the gate and social distancing took nothing away from what was a very enjoyable evening, and we certainly hope we can continue with some more events in this style in the weeks to come.
