DK Engineering at Seven Concours Riyadh Car Show 2021

Last week, Luke Gilbertson and Greg Duckloe travelled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the 2021 Riyadh Car Show. DK Engineering flew in two cars; a Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta and a 250 GT Zagato to be displayed, and the pair attracted lots of attention whilst on display.

Part of the 2021 Riyadh Season organized by the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, this was the show's second occurrence, following in the footsteps of the inaugural 2019 event. In addition to the multitude of cars on display, ranging from three McLaren F1s, a Ferrari 250 GTO, a bevy of American muscle cars, and a Ford Model T, there was truly something for everyone. Numerous European dealers were in attendance, along with many mainstream manufacturers, including dedicated displays from Ferrari and Pagani.

Despite this region not being synonymous with car collecting, it is evident that there is a passionate group of collectors and enthusiasts in the region. While the majority of the cars on display were built post-2000, DK saw lots of interest in the two 250-series Ferraris we had on display, showing the passion and curiosity of those in attendance for older models. With appreciation for older automobiles and Enzo-era Ferraris in particular growing in the Middle East, surely more similar events will become mainstays of the automotive calendar in the future.

We extend our gratitude to our hosts and the event organizers in Saudi Arabia for the invitation and their hospitality. We look forward to returning in 2022.
