This week, Blenheim Palace hosts Salon Privé, one the UK’s most prestigious automotive events; a Concours d’Elegance attended by international collectors, enthusiasts and judges.
At DK Engineering, we are proud to have within our care this week, two very special cars on behalf of a client. The first, a 1956 Ferrari 410 Superamerica “Super Fast” Coupé prototype, one of just four specially bodied 410 SA prototypes and totally unique in having been styled by Pinin Farina. The car is achingly beautiful and would have no doubt stunned onlookers upon debut at the Paris Auto Salon in 1956, with one-off touches and intoxicating “Americana” style rear fins. The car is also uniquely powered by a 4.9l twin-spark Lampredi V12, making it one of the fastest grand touring cars of the era. Rarely displayed in public, it has been met with an astonishing amount of praise this week at Salon Privé and will take home Best in Class, the coveted People’s Choice award and 2nd overall.
Additionally, DK Engineering have been overseeing a 1930 Bentley 4 ½ Litre Supercharged “Blower” with one-off, all alloy Gurney-Nutting coachwork. Such a special Bentley could of course have only been delivered to the most distinguished of clientele, and the “G-N Blower” is no exception, having been designed by and delivered to, original Bentley-boy and three time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, Woolf Barnato. We are pleased to announce that the Bentley was recipient of an Honourable Mention award.
Also on display, is a short-nose Ferrari 275 GTB that is currently undergoing a full restoration with DK Engineering and refinish in Rosso Rubino, as per the car’s rare and original factory specification.
It has been our pleasure to oversee the two Ferraris and Bentley at Salon Privé in 2025, and we will be sure to return for next year’s edition.
