Chantilly Arts & Elegance 2026

The weekend saw DK Engineering head to Chantilly Arts & Elegance, the biennial concours at the Château de Chantilly 50 km north of the French capital. Members of the sales team and workshop attended in support of two cars; the 1956 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Super Fast I Prototype by Pininfarina and the sole remaining Atalanta V12 Two-Seater Coupe.

The one-off Pininfarina prototype made its debut at the 1956 Paris Auto Salon. At a time where a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL offered 215 hp from its 3.0-litre straight six, Ferrari introduced the 410 Superamerica. The 410 would offer the greatest displacement ever offered from a Lampredi V12. Based on the single plug engine from the 410 S sports-racer, The Super Fast would see a 5.0-litre V12 and around 350 hp. It would also see a list price more than double that of the Mercedes. 2026 Chantilly Arts & Elegance saw the car return to France for the first time in at least 20 years, much to the celebration and adoration of guests in attendance. Entered into the Pininfarina class, the 410 would receive Best in Class and subsequently Post-War Best of Show!

Following the completion of DK's four year restoration, the sole remaining Atalanta two-seater V12 coupe made its public debut at Chantilly Arts & Elegance. A painstaking effort that saw a return to its original, 1939 specification, and owned by co-founder David Cottingham the Atalanta was well received with many of the attendees citing they had never seen or heard of the marque before. Completing the 130 km tour on the Saturday with David at the helm, the Atalanta would receive class honours in the Pre-War Coupe class.

Another car we sold earlier this year, a Ferrari 250 GT California Spider resplendent in its Rosso Rubino hue was also in attendance at the event.
