Singer Vehicle Design was founded in 2009 to both preserve and optimize the famed air-cooled Porsche 911. The 964 model Porsche became the perfect foundation for Singer's work possessing the ideal combination of classic air-cooled Porsche traits combined with a sophisticated footing in the vital areas of the vehicles dynamics. Inspiration is taken from the classic road racing era of the Porsche during the 1970's and can be seen in almost every detail around the car including the 'Butzi Porsche-inspired bodywork.
This car was the first UK supplied RHD example, optioned in the striking bespoke Singer Yolk hue, halfway between Signal and Bahama yellow depending on the light. The car was ordered with the brief to create Rob Dickinson’s(the founder of Singer) perfect Singer.
This car is fitted with an early hand-built 3.8 litre engine fettled by hot-rod engine builder Joe Lee and subsequently quoted at 360hp, but in reality much closer to the 400hp of the later, larger 4.0litre motor. Thanks to extensive use of Carbon Fibre for the majority of the body, the Singer weighs nearly 200kg less than a donor 964 Carrera 2, tipping the scales at just 1100kg all in.
Inside this car benefits from Singer’s signature black woven leather seat inserts on black Singer Edition Carbon Fibre Track Seats with brass grommets. Additionally the woven black leather is used for the dashboard inserts with the five-wide dial layout headlined by centre-mounted burnt orange rev counter. The satin black roll bar and harness bar affords the rear seats fitted back rests, the body colour finding its way inside for the transmission tunnel, sills and rear seat buckets introducing a welcoming splash of colour.
The first UK Singer, this car drove up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2015, piloted by famed Porsche fans Chris Harris and Marino Franchitti.

The car subsequently featured on the cover of EVO Magazine Issue 215 and separately on their YouTube channel with Dickie Meaden stating “If I’ve learnt one thing from today, its that if I had to choose one car, to own and drive from now until the day I die, it would be this’’
