The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the most prestigious race in automotive history and presents one of the hardest challenges a driver may have the privilege to face in their racing career. Over the past week, DK's Managing Director and Lead Acquisition Consultant, James Cottingham, has been at La Sarthe, fulfilling a lifelong dream of competing at the infamous French endurance race.

A few words from DK Founder, David Cottingham: 'What a year 2024 has been. I consider myself most privileged and honoured to have been in the company of James, my family, his fellow drivers and the United Autosport team for practice qualifying and races of all eight World Endurance Championship events.
Together, we shared highs and lows. The year has seen us travel across 5 continents; bear witness to James’ competing at the pinnacle event of GT racing, the 24 hrs of Le Mans, met old friends in paddocks the world over, sought out and forged new friendships the world over, and all with the added bonus of selling a few cars along the way!'

For the seventh round of the WEC calendar, James and some of the DK team touched down in Japan in above average, scorching heat and humidity. James was joined by his wife Frida Cottingham, his father David Cottingham.

DK x WEC 2024 - Round 5 - São Paulo
James Cottingham kicked off proceedings from fourth place on the grid, staying out of trouble in the hectic early stages. He handed over at 1/3 distance to former FIA Formula 3 racer Gregoire Saucy, who fought hard, initially with double-stinted tyres, before being handed some fresher tyres for his second outing.

Last weekend, the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchaps netted the #59 Mclaren LMGT3 EVO its best result this season so far, piloted by DK's own James Cottingham.
DK x WEC 2024 - Round 2 - Imola
Qualifying in the Italian sunshine saw James at the helm of the #59 720S LMGT3, resulting in a P10 grid placement after the Hyperpole shootout. From the off, James quickly gained four places, running P6 while fellow Brit Caygill, who started P15, also made progress in the first hour, moving up to P11.
DK - WEC Round 1 - Qatar
With the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at the weekend, DK Engineering reached a significant milestone in the motorsport journey. The Qatar 1812km event saw DK Engineering and managing director James Cottingham on the grid with the #59 United Autosports-run McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, as the journey to the 24 Hours of Le Mans truly commenced.
